GRB's Interactive Voice Response (IVR) software, when used with Interactive Voice Response (IVR) hardware, provides the capability for employees to obtain (via a touch-tone phone) both general and personal information regarding their retirement, TSP, FEHB, FEGLI, and Social Security benefits. For employees covered by either CSRS or FERS, including law enforcement and firefighter personnel, the program will:

Retirement

  • Determine date of first eligibility for full, unreduced, voluntary retirement benefits and calculate the monthly annuity payable, with and without a maximum survivor benefit election.
  • Determine current eligibility for discontinued service or early retirement benefits and calculate the monthly annuity payable, with and without a maximum survivor benefit election.
  • Determine current eligibility for death-in-service benefits and calculate the monthly survivor annuity payable.
  • Based on a date and high-3 average salary specified by the employee, calculate the monthly annuity payable, with and without a maximum survivor benefit election.

FEGLI

  • Calculate the total life insurance amounts (i.e., regular and accidental death) an employee has based on the employee’s current basic salary and FEGLI election code.

TSP

  • Calculate the amount of any monthly annuity under the TSP that could be purchased based on employee’s current TSP account balance and projected age at time of retirement.
